My Compaq Evo's screen was turning on with a red tint, so I sent it in for a warranty repair (yes, I still have an active warranty on a pre-HP business notebook). They replaced the LCD assembly, but it came back with issues. First, it came back missing one of the rubber bumpers that protect the screen assembly. The metal Compaq logo was also all scratched up. Both of these are minor annoyances. However, the LCD panel itself is flat out unacceptable. It has noticeable dim spots and horrible light leakage near the bottom of the panel. When viewing a solid color, the screen looks awful. HP has agreed to pick it up again, which is fine, but you'd think they'd test the screen and make sure it has all its components before sending the machine back. What color is best to illustrate brightness variance? I want to make sure that it's very clear to HP what the issue is.

If they don't fix it after the next attempt, contact HP and tell them you want to speak with a Case Manager!

I doubt it will be an issue. The machine has to go back for them to replace the rubber bumper anyway because there doesn't seem to be a way to get just that part.

That falls under Quality Assurance. The Case Managers help with that as well.
