Got a new HP battery for my laptop and it failed the battery test from the HP Advisory program. It telling me one of the cell is not working and that I should replace it.

Did I get a defective battery or I didn't charge it properly?

My dv9535nr does the same thing, nothing is wrong with the battery (I bought another) but HP said the battery controller could be faulty. Not sure what that means, I'm living with it since I keep it plugged in all the time and the battery in the fridge @ 40% charge, but it would be nice to know what's going on with it.
