Greetings - I am a very happy dv2000t owner - and I'm thinking about getting a dv6000 to replace a Toshiba M115 which I am selling tomorrow (selling foolishly as it turns out - it was a great little system for $798 and may not be replaceable). Anyway, I think the batteries are interchangeable - but I'm not sure. I ordered a 12-cell with my dv2000 so I'm pretty sure I'll get the high-capacity 6-cell with the 6000 if I am able to get it. As I have whined here before, the 12-cell makes the 2000 an awkward system. TIA

If you can trace the part numbers for the batteries in question, and if the ones you wish to interchange are the same, then I see no reason why you couldn't change them. It is likely that they will be the same batteries, as HP would want the cost of manufacturing batteries kept to a minimum, so using the same batteries on a number of a notebooks is a good idea. However, it is still possible they are different. If they are, then do not try the other battery.
