Can you say piece of ****?
not happy with HP right now. I love my dv6125 so far, but yesterday when I woke up it wouldnt turn on via the power switch. Plugged it in and it worked, but as soon as I removed the power cable the laptop turned off...............
Faulty battery..............the week before finals..................and batteries are "backlogged" at HP support so it will take 11 days for me to receive a new one. Oh and they needed my creidt card # too. Last HP product I buy
battery failure at 4 months seems outrageous to me, am I alone?
-
hey.... can you give us your battery make or number so we can check if we have the same battery?
thanks! -
you might want to check with the usual retailers like bestbuy, circuitcity, compusa etc... the dv6000 has a common battery and is widely distributed. I'm sure the retailers have them for sale.

wow, that sucks. I have a dv6113us and i usually have it in the laptop plugged in always. I hope that doesn't happen to me. Just to let u know, Newegg has a 12 cell for about $135 shipped w/ 3 day shipping. But they've been selling very fast, and I've seen it go out of stock about 4-5 times already. Good luck finding a new battery and on you finals

You should check newegg for a new battery unless you are still under warrenty -
i saw a 12 cell pavilion battery at Circuit City.

I take back most of the negative things I said about HP
while I still feel its not right to have a battery fail in 4 months, HP remedied the situation by overnighting me a new 12 cell battery (covered under warranty). I dont know why the indian tech told me it would take 10 days. My new batt arrived yesterday, so I only missed out on 2 days of work.
As for the batt ###, sorry I already sent the faulty battery back to HP -
I had the battery on my DV6190EU fail after around 3 or 4 months - had only charged it a handful of times during that period. I contacted HP and had a replacement arrive a couple of days later under warranty. Whilst it may not last the whole of the warranty period without degradation of how much power it can store, it certainly shouldn't fail like it did - and mine failed exactly the same as yours. It just wouldn't hold a charge and never got beyond 0%.
My battery model: 432306-001 -
I can beat you all. Less than a month and the battery on my DV2315 died the same way.
HP said 3 days. We'll see. -
At least it didn't explode in your face. =P
-
I'll call HP as I have the same issue with my battery!!
