It's kinda late, since I already ordered my laptop, but I have a question for anybody who has a laptop with a non-mobile processor (preferably somebody with a zx5000). What kind of battery life do you get, and what battery do you have? I got a 12 cell battery in my computer and a 3.2 ghz P4. Granted, this is a computer that will spend most of its time sitting plugged into the wall in my dorm room, but I'm still curious.

I have the zv5000v with the AMD 64bit CPU (3400+) and I get a average of 3.5 to 4 hours on a 12 cell battery.

OK, thanks.
Anybody else? I was looking at reviews of laptops with similar processors and designs, and it seems that the typical battery life is around two hours.

Unfortunately, I bought a laptop with a P4 3.2 ghz w/ HT. Does anybody have a similarly configured laptop?

its usally pretty safe to say any P4 over 3GHz is only going to last 2 hours or less, Unless its a Pentium M intel dosen't have the best power scaling ability.
