On my dv2125nr shows the percent remaining, but no time estimate...my old laptop did though.. how do i change this setting?

I didnt think you could change that...Im not positive though

Is your old laptop accurate about that timing? Builders just give up that kind of idea since your load is really dynamic, the minutes really do mean much than percentage. If you get use to your machine, you will probably figure out under what circumstance how long will you battery last.
My V3000z will probably do <1% per minute if I am watching DVD and a lot less if I am just typing. So, if the battery tells me there are 17% left, then it will probably last 25~30 mins while I am typing or around 16 mins while playing DVD. The machine will hibernate at the point of 3%(I hate this but I can't do anything about this). -
yes its very accurate--why is miss it.

No HP notebook for the last two-three years has it.

my nc6400 shows a bettery lifetime...
it's a simple calculation -- based off the current power drain and charge level, i don't think that HP can selectively disable it -
Download Notebook Hardware Control.
In addition to being able to see a time meter you can change the voltage for you CPU.

I downloaded that, and it seems even that doesn't show your time left. I guess it is not a feature in the DV2000T.

Oh and make sure your laptop isn't plugged in otherwise it won't show anything (just incase
).

Oh okay you guys thanks, I got it to work.

Is this Battery Time App worth it? Any extra toll on system or side effects?

Hey guys. I currently use Laptop Power Battery Monitor v1.1.12 from download.com. So far, it is the best monitor out there for free. It can boot up from windows startup and if you hover your mouse of the the tasktray icon it will tell you percentage and battery time left very accurately as it recalculates upon every 1% drop. There are a few cons but I'm settling with it cuz there are no other options for free out there that I know of. 1) Uses more memory than I would like...task manager says ~8mb 2)task tray icon relaly sucks...you would have no idea that it was a battery timer...it should be like Toshiba monitors..
So, if you just unplugged from the wall then you only have to wait about 2% change in battery to get a real good estimate of battery life. If you wait ~5% you will get a better reading I've noticed.
I have a V3000Z sempron with 12cell and I can get over 6hours with 6/10 brightness (i have brightview too) and configuring the power management/screensaver. I turn hard disk activity down and other hardware run time down. -

If that doesn't work take a screen shot so I can see.
