    Battery Life issues on Pavilion Notebook

    Hi,
    I have just recently purchased a Pavilion (dv9288) laptop and have been having some battery problems.

    I have noticed that while idle the battery life is only 2 hours or so.

    I followed the following sequences when I first got my laptop.

    Charged for 8 hrs
    Discharged fully
    Charged to 100%
    Discharged fully
    Charged to 100%
    Discharged fully

    The laptop is running Vista. Has anyone else been getting more from there battery? Or is this the average life of there 12 cell battery.
