I'm currently leaning toward purchasing the HP NC8430. Battery life is a fairly important aspect I'm looking at when purchasing a solid machine since I will be using it in the field for work periodically. I want a good all-around machine for work and some play as well (it will be used for personal and business use - perhaps more personal use). The NC8430 seems like a nice blend of what I'm looking for.
Does anyone who owns an NC8430 have good figures for max. battery life with the standard 8-cell battery that comes with it? I believe there is also a 12-cell battery that can be used with the NC8430 - anyone know how battery life is with the 12-cell battery?
Any help appreciated!

In the review for it I think it was three and a half for the eight cell. Not sure on the twelve.

The 8 cell is between 3:30 and 4:00

You can always extend the time by doing some trick with the hardware profiles in Windows. Check this thread

according to HP adding the 12 cell ultra extended battery could give the notebook 10 hours of battery life total.
