    Battery Life on HP nx7010

    Hi,
    I figured out a long time ago that the battery life on my laptop is NOT 5 hours, as claimed by the manufacturer, but max. 3.5 hours, when using it with almost no battery use.
    I'd like to know whether this is "normal" and if the shop I bought it at would be able to do anything about it.

    it's pretty normal for manufacturers to overstate battery life. they'll usually give the numbers for when the screen is on low brightness and the machine is idling. as a rule of thumb, you can usually knock off 20% from what the mfr. says the battery life is as to what it really is.
