A friend has a compaq laptop, not sure of the model, kept it plugged in most of the time but not always. As of yesterday, he pulled the ac adapter and the system died as if there was no battery. Plugged in the laptop and could power back on but the battery charging lights don't seem to flash. Any help? Not sure if there was a thunderstorm in the area or not.

We cannot help you with this little information.

    Model of laptop?

    Age of battery?

    Do other batteries work?

    Does the OS detect it?

    etc.

I was thinking the same thing, windowsrookie.

    Not enough information to begin.
