    Battery capacity confusion: 12 vs 6 cell ? 4.4AHr vs 8.8AHr ?

I have a Compaq v5102NR which came with a standard 4.4AHr battery. I see others talking about the '12 cell' battery that HP advertise on their web-site; the one that 'sticks out' and which doubles the capacity. This is presumably 8.8 AHr?

Here in the UK there is a seller on Ebay who's selling '8800 MAh' batteries which look as though they'll fit. Here is the Ebay link:

In an email, he maintains that these are double the capacity of the standard battery but they're the same size. Is this possible? It doesn't make sense to me that HP would sell double capacity batteries that 'stick out' if it were technically possible to maintain the standard size. I'm assuming that 'AHr' and 'MAh' mean the same thing.

Can anyone shed any light here or is this seller a shark?

    Thanks
