In case I end up returning my laptop, I'm interested in knowing the difference in battery life between these two setups:

    dv6000t
    Intel C2D T5200
    GeForce 7400
    80GB HDD 5400rpm
    6 cell battery

    dv6000z
    AMD 64 X2 dual-core TL-50
    GeForce 7200
    120GB HDD 5400rpm
High Capacity 6 cell battery (essentically 8 cell, right?)

Just rough estimates I suppose. I wasn't sure about the differences in the regular battery vs high capacity and the GeForce 7400 vs 7200.

anyways, the idea is to return my current dv6000t with the high pitch noise to Costco and purchase a dv6000z with an AMD processor and hopefully get a quiet and less annoying laptop. i'll probably step it up to a 1.8ghz 64 X2 (currently have a 1.6ghz T5200) and the battery will be the "high capacity" supposedly 8 cell battery. i thought that's what i currently had with this laptop but i recently discovered it's only the standard 6 cell. and honestly, i'm only getting a little over 2 hours surfing the web with wifi on. i would think an AMD with a little bettery battery and slightly less demanding graphics card (7200 vs 7400) would at least equal the dv6000t in terms of battery life. anybody else have this idea?

I have the dv6233se which is an AMD config with an onboard Go 6150 and a 6-cell battery, and got almost 3 hours with wifi, only after I downloaded the cpu drivers from the AMD website and set the display to 50% brightness. Im running XP on it at the moment...
