    Hello,

Anyone have an idea of how long the 8 cell and the 12 cell lithium last on the compaq r3000z with the athlon 64 3000+ processor ?
also would like to know how good is the r3000z as a desktop replacement ?

    Thanks

the 12 cell will give u a good 1 hour maybe more of battey life. It is definintly worth it. Currently it would be a good desktop replacement if not for the terrible GPU which is not even directx 9 compatable! You won't be able to run almost anything that requires directx 9.
Here is my petition to get HP to fix this problem that has been complained about since these notebooks debut in March.

You'll get close to 4 hours with the 12 cell battery with moderate usage. So long as you don't plan on doing any serious gaming it makes a very nice desktop replacement.

I had this machine about a month before I returned it, I got 3.5-4hours out of the 12 cell. It dose great on battery life considering the power it has.

i haven't run it all the way down to zero yet but I ran it down to 50% and it was running for 90minutes so it looks like the battery at max will go 3 hours. I was using my wireless I believe and just surfing the web. I ran the aquamark on it and the score for the cpu was 6500 but when I had the AMD 64 3400+ I got a CPU score of 9300 but...the new Radeon 9600 I have now scored like a 2300 while the Geforce 440 scored barly 1100 so I went from an aquamark total score of 10000(amd NOTEBOOK) to my current of 20100.

The AMD 3400+ is definitly better it just has a bad GPU
