I've been trying to find an indepth review on the new HP dv2000t but have been unsuccessful so far. For those of you with a dv2000t, I was wondering how much battery time you were getting out of the 6 cell? I think HP claims as high as 4+ hours but was just wondering what "real world" numbers people were getting.

    Thanks

Haven't unplugged my dv2000t with the intention of timing battery life, so I can't give you exact numbers, but...

I was stuck on Sunday in Denver International airport, with my dv2000t. I watched a full movie, and did some work while waiting the six hours until my connecting flight left. Battery level was still fine, but honestly, I don't recall what level it was at. I know that I checked it, and I wasn't concerned about remaining time.

I did test my dv1000t, which had the 12 cell. I left it unplugged, ripped some cd's and dvd's, checked my mail, ran a virus protectioin scan, etc. etc. with the intent of seeing just how long the battery would last.

It was over 7 hours! Again, this is with the dv1000t, 1.83Ghz duo core.

Not sure how the dv2000t compares, but I'd guess it's similar. My guess, I'd get about 3.5 hours by dimming the screen and turning off wifi, but again, it's just a guess based on real life usage.

If I get a chance, I'll unplug the dv2kt and time how long the 6 cell lasts.

(I'd suggest you purchase the 12 cell, if you don't mind the minimal extra weight and size. The extra weight and size didn't bother me at all, in fact, I liked how the 12 cell raised the screen slightly)
