My laptop barely lasts 2hr 40 min at 100% battery, Power saving battery mode, almost minimum brightness. Dynamic switching. I remember it giving me 5hr 30 min or so when I bought it.
I had nothing only my desktop open, no programs running when I took these times. My laptop is just 4 months old...

Install BatteryCare and check the wear level...

i also get 2 hrs 40 minutes when i run the dedicated graphics card.

Try using fixed switching, then you can be sure that the dedicated card isnt working

If you haven't used your battery for a while then it's probably just need a good calibration, I think HP has battery diagnostics tools in the UEFI.

Lol...when I fully charge my laptop I get 5-6hrs on power saver.

When it's on high performance I get the exact same battery usage as you, 2hr and 40min.

You probably just messed with some options on your computer incorrectly or installed your graphics driver wrong so its always on dedicated rather than integrated on battery.

Sounds like your battery has started to lose its power. most batteries will usually hold 80% of their charge after one year, but in some cases they will not last that long, depending on the user and how the battery was handled. this is why some vendors only give 3 months of warranty for original batteries. Check what kind of a warranty you have and if you are still under the warranty timeline -replace the battery

Okay, so look at this now:

Only 39 minutes on 42%. Even considering the 5% wear, it's TOO less! I'm on HP Recommended plan.

My laptop is a 6121tx with the default 6 cell battery.

Nope. I haven't played any game at all today. The most CPU intensive thing I've done is maybe watch a TV show on my laptop.

Now after a removed my battery from my laptop for a few hours, plugged it back in, it shows:

    80% - 3h11
    Discharge rate 12.9W
    Wear Level: 1.14%

Seems normal-ish now. But the crazy discharge rate thing happens a LOT with my laptop. Any idea what to do to diagnose the problem?

Switch to manual switching. Sometimes the 6770 will be on for seemingly no reason.

Your CPU is running way too hot for doing nothing, it's probably sucking your energy too. Maybe time for a re-paste?
