45 minutes is ridiculous even if you are on wi-fi all the time.Must be a defective one.Get a 12 cell battery instead if you are mostly using it as a desktop replacement.

    Hey Samwise592,
I used Mobile Meter to determine the Wear Level of my battery, passed this specific technical information to HP using their e-mail tech support, and had a new free replacement battery delivered to me within a week. My notebook was still under warranty. I would recommend the e-mail route any day over trying to gain support from someone in India.

My Wear Level was around 53% and my notebook was only 9 months old. The replacement battery they sent to me showed 3% right out of the box and 7% after the first charge. It has maintained a 7% Wear Level for the past month.

Search this forum for links to Mobile Meter and further information about my claim, if needed.
