Hello all,it's my 1ยบ thread and sorry my bad english haha, here we go:

My cousin owns a HP dv6135, the case is that the battery lasts no longer than 1 minute.

Today looking at this problem,I saw that him has the charger phisycally broken, with some parts of the cable(copper) into the air and covering it with tape. The HP Battery Check says that it is recommended to change the battery (but does not say why the battery is so), but I've seen that Windows XP does not charge the battery, and today seeing the CPU Hardware Monitor, i've seen these curios results :

    Designed Capacity: 88 mWh
    Load capacity: 52 mWh
    Current capacity: 1.4 mWh

To me what it's mean ,is that the problem is not the battery (despite having lost 40% capacity), it is the charger that is not working properly.

And my cousin has told me is that one day to another the battery suddenly did not work for more than a minute.

Before recommending to buy a new charger and spend money on it, I want to know opinions.

    ;)

    Greetings

I hope that's a typo over there, because it should be: 88800mWh. Well, the battery of my dv9000 (that i did not buy new) has just 37400mWh left (as reported by Everest) and still lasts for ~2hrs of normal work.

So if it says 52000mWh there's nothing wrong with the battery and he should replace the charger. Also at one time Windows gave me a message saying "There is a problem with your battery, because of this your computer may shut down suddenly", accompanied by a red X over the battery icon. Now i hadn't been experiencing any sudden shutdowns when running on battery, and the message went away after a full charge/discharge cycle.
