Today I tried to get the 12 cell battery out of my dv2000t notebook and couldn't--after countless tries. The latch just wouldn't move, no matter how I tried to wiggle it along with the battery. What could be causing this? Any tips for resolution? Thanks

use some more muscle?
my dv9500t's battery is pretty tough to get out too.... i have to make sure my laptop is NOT upside down, only then will the latch slide all teh way and release the battery -
the first few times you take it out it is kind of hard. Like the post ontop said "use more muscle" -

try pushing the battery in more then moving the latch mabey the latch is stuck n the battery and you just need to move the battery a little to free up the latch if that dosnt work just pull harder like every one said

Thanks for replies. I figured out what the problem was by reading this thread, http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=91773. I failed to notice that my latch was already in the release position, which meant that my battery and not the latch that got stuck. I forced it out with the knife. It's all good now.
