    Hi,
Im currently trying to buy a dv2500t using the 30% off coupon of purchase $999.99 or more.

So, I have to somehow use $30 inorder to go over $1000 and I am stuck btwn two options.

Option #1: +$30 on High Capacity 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery and just use SuperMulti 8X DVD & Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG

Option #2: +$15 on Bluetooth and +$15 on Lightscribe. And just use regular 6cell battery

I have no idea which one to go for....
How good is Lightscribe tech, and how good is high capacity batt. ???

    Please help.

Id go with the lightscribe + bluetooth... unless you really have use/purpose for a heavy chunky long life battery. You can always get the battery later on maybe even cheaper. It will be much harder for you to get the lightscribe+BT since their internal components

Im still to try out the lightscribe labeling feature.. cant seem to find lightscribe media locally. Have to get it on ebay i guess..

So all lightscribe does is make labels on a disc???
Well, I really don't use bluetooth... its only good for phones rite??
Also, how good is the high capacity 6cell battery when compared to just regular?
If there isnt much difference btwn these, I will go with bluetooth and lightscribe

yes light scribe just puts labels on discs without the use of inks or printers

bluetooth isnt only for phones.. bluetooth can connect to all sorts of modern devices.. (mouse, phones, headset units, etc)

high capacity 6cell is somewhere around 18% capacity than the standard one.. its says it on the website when u choose batterys... click on help or learn more option

I went with regular 6 Cell and got Bluetooth, fingerprint.
I figured you can always buy a 12cell/additional 6 cell battery but you can't do the same with internal fingerprint scanner.

If you are paying $700 for a notebook, there's gonna to be some compromises made.

Won't have my HP till about the 20th.

HC battery is like 17% more which is like 15-18 more minutes.

What do you mean by "throws out"? If Dell threw out bad quality systems, They would not have sent you a bad one now would they?

You get 21 days trial with HP. Don't like it? Send it back :)

I went to best buy to compare HP LCDs and most were SEC and AUO but they still looked way better than the AUO and SEC I got from Dell.

I liked the size of the 2500 compared to vostro 1500. But, it kinda looks ummmmmmmmmmmmmm girly :(

bestbuy now has Apple so I started using the Macbook, a buddy of mine showed me Parllels for the mac (can install Linux or XP on mac) and I was pretty amazed.

So right now, I'm having a REALLLLLLLLLLY hard time deciding.

The coupon code won't work if you are using the student discount. I know that when I log on HP has the student discount set to my profile so it automatically does it without asking me if I'm logged in while configuring the laptop. So when you order your laptop make sure you are logged out when you customize it and add it to your cart. Then login when it asks you to and then put in the coupon code. This happened to me before and it took me a couple tries to figure it out.

If that isn't the problem then maybe HP stopped the 30% coupon, I read about someone mentioning it inside of the, "Serious question about hp 30 day price dif. guarantee" thread, the user triad95928 mentioned it on the third page.

there are only a limited number of uses for each coupon, so even if the coupon is not expired yet, it may have been used up by other people
