I played the beta and lets say my performance wasnt that great, but I supposed that it was because of beta. So can any of you confirm this game runs at least on LOW? 1366x768

    Based on the beta:

Use 11.10 preview 1 drivers or better.
    http://www2.ati.com/drivers/hotfix/catalyst_11.10_preview/amd_catalyst_11.10_preview3_win7_vista.exe

If you still have issues you need to reinstall drivers.

    Step from ironman:
    go safe mode.
go to device manager and remove the drivers for both intel and ati cards and choose not to save the driver software. (for 2nd gen, idk if intel is there)
    restart.
open any ati driver update setup file and choose remove all ati software.
    restart.
    install stock.
    restart.
    install latest driver

I was running BF3 beta well at 720p or something as I recall.

yeah. 1280x720 with auto settings (and then you hit right to go to custom and turn off SSAO, bump textures up to ultra if you want..not sure how big of a hit that's gonna give me) and it works fine.

set FOV to 90..still seems to be alright in the campaign. Need to mess around with multiplayer in a bit.

I'm hoping to get at least 45 FPS on 720p but any settings would do, like even LOW, is that remotely possible?

I wonder what I actually am getting, fps wise.

    guess I'll check.

edit: ctrl+alt+s lets you check in game (you have to hold it though).

I seem to get 25-30 fps but it seems playable anyway.

...oh well. Don't think we'll be getting 45 or so even on low (since it seemed like on low I still got 25-30).

maybe if there's a way to use a DX9 renderer or something.

Damn I really can't play hardcore FPS titles less than 45 but I only have an E14 :( Hope there is lots of tweaks in the config files!

    doesn't seem that way yet.

may be out of luck. battlefield also is dx10/dx11 only so...no dx9 to save us.

Im still on the 8.7 drivers from HP, is it safe to just update the AMD drivers by d/l from ATI (11.9) or will that somehow mess up my switchable graphics setup (Intel/ATI)?

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-envy-hdx/582545-drivers-ati-5650-6630-hp-envy-14-a.html

get drivers from here. It may give you problems on the initial install depending on what version your envy 14 is (mine is a 1000 series and well..hates all 11.x GPU installs except for 11.2 Once I have 11.2 on the rest work without blue screening my computer)

Anyway I'd try it with 11.9 If need be you could put 11.10 preview 3 on instead (you may need to) or you can wait for 11.10 WHQL to come out in a week or so

Lovin this game. I'm getting 25-35 avg fps (no OC) which i'm happy about. Just curious to see if anyone is getting high avg fps? Perhaps share your settings or even tweaks :). My settings are 1280x720, SSAO off, AA 2x, medium settings except for texture which is on ultra.

I've been playing it for almost a week.
I get 20-26fps. I think my settings might be too high.
    1366x768,
Most settings are on Medium, except Texture which is High.
    Ambient Occlusion: SSAO
    Anisotropic Filter: 4x
    Motion Blur: Off

Too be honest, I'm envious of any system that can reach 45fps, and am
thinking about making some changes to get that.

What do you mean by 600p?

    Is that 800x600?

I was playing the beta like that xD but I wanted my 1366x768 D:

    1024x600 >>>>> 800x600 (and also smooth enough)

.....I wish I got smooth stuff at 1280x720 at least.

Can definitely say that 800x600 is extremely smooth. I get 45fps+ easily. But it just doesn't feel right. Coming from BFBC2 1600x900 running around 30fps+ to 800x600 is just too much of a sacrifice for me :p. Sometimes I wish I had the Alienware m14x - that would definitely have no trouble running BF3 nicely

Im not sure about framerate, but Ive been playing BF3 on auto graphics settings and it runs great and looks very nice. Envy gets hot as hell and the fan runs constantly, but the cpu and gpu temps stay below any point of worry. Still happy with my year old ENvy 14, but cant wait for the release of the redesigns! May have to bite the size bullet and get a 15 as Im not sure Ill be able to wait for the 14 to come out again. ;)
