Hi guys new to the forum but wondered if anyone can help.

I've recently purchased a HP Pavillion dv6-6156ea i5-2410m laptop. It has 6GB RAM and a 1GB AMD Radeon HD 6490M gfx card. I thought it would be able to run Battlefiled 3.

Unfortunately I cannot get the game out of windowed mode. I've tried updating drivers, alt enter, etc but nothing works. Windowed mode just kills the frames and the game becomes a bit of a slide show.

Is there anything else I can try? I've read elsewhere on the forum of other crashes etc linked to drivers, but can't find any other reference to windowed mode.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sometimes happens to me where the game starts in windowed mode. Have you tried alt-tabbing in and out of the game until it reverts back to full screen?

Thanks for the reply, but yeah I've tried alt-tabbing. Strangely I've twice got it into full screen mode using in game settings but all of a sudden it reverts to windowed mode.

I just don't don't understand it. I expected performance to be down a bit using the laptop but didn't expect this issue. Windowed mode isn't playable for me :-(

I don't think the 6490m is good enough to run the game in full screen mode
