This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Beep before bios password logon

    I am not sure if I am posting this in the right place. I have a question. I set up a password in the bios of my HP DV2000T, so that the password has to be typed in before the system boots into windows. But there is a loud beep each time the password dialogue box pops up to ask for the password. Is there a way to turn this beep off? (I don't think this is the POST beep, because it doesn't beep when the password feature is turned off).
