    Anyone have any suggestions?

I need to get a dock for my dv7t and wasn't sure if any of you have any you can recommend.

The HP QuickDock looks nice, so I'm thinking about that.

When I have my notebook on my desk I have:

    My power cord
External monitor in the HDMI port
    1 x USB - Keyboard
    1 x USB - Mouse
    1 x USB - iPod
Ethernet cable to 360 for Window's Media Center/Live
And I'm going to get a Zalman cooler which will be in one of the USB ports.

So, I have a lot of clutter on my desk and I'm hoping a dock will help.

It sucks that the QuickDock doesn't have a HDMI port, but it's alright. So, will the QuickDock be the best choice or does anyone know anything that will work just as good/better that doesn't cost as much?

Can't you just use the VGA on the monitor, it's not like you need to input sound into the monitor is it? and that dock you speak of has a VGA port.

the quickdock is what i use. although it does not have an hdmi port, you can still connect to the quickdock and use the hdmi port on the laptop. i know having this 1 cable connected sort of defeats the purpose of a docking station but still, it's nice.

as for me - i actually use vga out 99% if not 100% of the time because when i output to my tv (42" vizio plasma), the quality is not as good as if i connect via vga.

odd, i know, but vga is not so bad for me. i watch movies, videos, surf the net all through vga going out to my tv.

    fwiw.

ps - you know the larger docker which you can prop your laptop onto? i forget the model, but i saw that docker on clearance for $219 at a bestbuy in queens, nyc. perhaps if you are looking for that, you can check out a bestbuy in your area.

I just use the Quickdock VGA port, saves me from having to unplug 2 cords.

The difference between analog and digital is small anyway.
