Hi all, I've been searching for the best spec'd DV9000 gpu, but my search results always just show up the overheating problem... does anyone know if there is a list around with all the different options of DV9000's? I currently have a 7600 go GPU, and I just bought a DV9000 mobo for $3 with a 7900 go GPU on it. As I can get them fairly cheap if I'm lucky, I want to find out what is the best GPU available on a DV9000 system board. Thanks!

I have the 8600M (dv9535) which has been known to have overheating probs also.
For a long time I used rubber pieces under the back 2 feet on the laptop to lift it up off the surface of the desk to breathe better. Now I have a Zalman cooler and still use the rubber to keep it cooled down. This has been what I've done to keep this thing from burning up and it has worked well.

Anyway, the 8600M scored 4.9 for graphics and 5.5 for 3D gaming graphics on my WEI score. Not bad for something that is almost 3 years old now.

Cool thanks for the info.. I've now been hunting down a DV9500 board with a 8600m GS on ebay to no avail... plenty of 9600 and 9800go's.. so I bought a 9800go for $2. Any idea where I could find a board with 8600m GS on it? I don't mind if it's faulty with the GPU problem, as I can reflow them...
