    Hi guys,

Just wondering what notebook cooler (if any) you guys use with your Envy 14s. I ordered one with the i7, and I'm concerned that long gaming sessions will shorten my laptop's lifespan. I have a Zalman NC-2000 that I use with my 15.4 inch laptop right now. Has anyone tried one of these with the Envy 14? And if so, what sort of results are you getting.

Alternatively, what other coolers have you have success with?

I have not done a thorough search yet but I am leaning toward a 200-220 mm fan laptop cooler.
These large fans support 12V and can be modded to run on an AC adapter to produce more flow (USB's 5V is pretty limiting)

Does yours get really hot? I'm finding mine is staying cool even after 2-3 hour long gaming sessions. The only part that is warm is the bottom right, but it's hardly noticeable....

Same here. When playing some pretty intensive games (even with an overclocked GPU), both the CPU and GPU temps stay well under 70°C. I've got the i5, though, if that makes any difference.

I don't actually have it yet, It's still in production :). I did order the i7 though, as when not gaming I run multi core MATLAB scripts that run for upwards of a couple of hours, so I worry that during gaming I will produce too much heat. Worst comes to worst, notebook coolers can only extend the life of your laptop, not shorten it :).

I use the Antec Notebook Cooler Stand (how generic of a name). It's not the best performing -- idle temps are only a few degrees cooler, gaming temps are good (about 8C-10C reduction on GPU). I am powering it with a USB A/C adapter instead of the notebook itself (and I also run SSD).
The ergonomics and appearance are better than most others. It allows better use of external keyboard and mouse while bringing the display up to your level. I use it mostly next to my 24" display however for dual view.
