Seems my DV6z is having some issues. I'm still within my 21 days, and would like to exchange it. Is there a better number to call besides 1-800-BUYMYHP?

All I want to do is exchange my existing laptop for another of the exact same configuration. Keep it simple.

They keep trying to sell me more stuff on the computer. They should be GIVING me added stuff for the inconvenience! Not only that they tried to charge me the difference from the new configured price and what I originally paid. $167.98!

After some huffing and puffing on my part they finally got it so they could send it without charge and without trying to sell me any more crap.

    Gah!

Sorry. I get what you are going through. But that is their business. Kind of the same principle behind the drive-thru clerk suggesting sales. Just how they make money. And HP doesn't do it by supporting a system they have already sold.

Still - a "hassle free" return/exchange policy would be nice and a step up from the competition.

Well the point is that for one, it's an exchange, they have no right to charge me a price difference. Secondly, their product failed and is an inconvenience to the customer, and am in no mood for them to try to hawk their other stuff on me. I'm not calling to buy another computer, I'm calling them to get one that works that I paid for in the first place.

Not only that but the sales pitch is lost when the rep can barely speak English.

And I'm not sure what you're referring to as a "drive-thru clerk"?

Yeah - I do agree with you. They should have identified your problem and handled it accordingly instead of following their "playbook". I have also dealt with HP call centers and individuals who's english is more than evidentily a second language.

By "drive-thru clerk", I was referring to what a fastfood drive thru employee constantly does as suggestive sales when you place your order. Sorry, I was just trying to make light humor. In no way am I trying to poke fun or suggest your situation as humorous. I do hope that you find some sort of good resolution in this.

oh, no problem. Just wasn't sure what you meant by "drive-thru" clerk. Now I get it. :D

It should be resolved. They issued an RMA and all should be good, hopefully replacement laptop will work as it should.
