    Hi Everyone,

I've been a happy owner of an first gen Envy 17 3D(no sandy bridge) and for the most part i'm super happy.

However, I'm not at all impressed with the 9cell battery I ordered. HP claims up to 3hours with it but I've never been able to get even an hour and half out of it on minimal settings.

So I wanted to find out from you guys out there what power settings you've used that give you great life but the lappy is still useable.

    Thanks

Download CPU-Z and look at the Core Speed of the CPU while running on battery. There may be a problem with TurboBoost/ power setting keeping your CPU at max speed.

Also make sure you have ATI Battery saver enabled. You can find this either in the ATI Tray Tool or the Windows Power Settings.
