I just got my 8510p few days ago and use it mainly on the desk 99% of the time and want to know if I should remove the battery while using it on AC. Should I discharge the battery and then remove it or is it ok to remove it and store it when it is full charged?

I believe with li-on batteries it's best to discharge it to 40% and store it in a cool dry place. There's a battery care guide somewhere here... But yes, keeping your laptop plugged in at 100% burns through charge cycles slowly.

This is correct. I never leave my battery in while on A/C. I always remove it and keep the charge between 40-50%. I also run it through once a month, although not everyone says a monthly charge/discharge is essential for good battery health.
