    Howdy...

Just received my dv2000t from HP, with the nVidia 7200, and while everything works, the video drivers are far from wonderful...

Specifically, I was unable to use my 2nd monitor, a 20 inch Viewsonic with 1680x1050 resolution. The max the control panel would allow was 1600x1200.

There are no GeForce Go drivers for Vista at all on nVidia's site, but there is a more advanced driver for the desktop GeForce cards. Of course, that driver will not install on your laptop..

    UNLESS...

You change the .inf file. There are instructions on how to do this very easily here:

    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/

So, I installed the newest beta drivers, and now I can run at 1680x1050 on my second montiro (yea!)...

Still a couple of issues: 1) Can only run in 16bit color on the 2nd monitor. 32bit distorts the picture for some reason...

    2) Can't use Aero when in dual-monitor mode. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I imagine this will work on all the nVidia-based dvX000t machines. Let me know if you have any luck...

it's a beta driver...so there will likely be issues. The 32-bit colors might cause some synch issues or something close that you might find a solution for on the forums for the beta drivers, wherever that might be on the nVidia site.

Same goes for the Aero problem, it is likely a beta issue.

i'm currently using the 97.54 drivers from laptopvideo2go found here, although i think i remember that the vista drivers found on HPs site worked fine for me (97.29). I have a 22" westinghouse lcm-22w2 with a native res of 1680x1050. currently everything runs fine at native res at 32-bit with aero and all.

Do these drivers allow you to change the video settings?
I'm really starting to hate how I can't change my bright/contrast settings. It's WAY too white...
