    Hello,

I just wanted to share my nice experience with HP.
I have order a dv5t last Monday and decide that it won't fit.
So I try to cancel the order on Wednesday. I have call HP who said they would attempt to cancel the order (which was not yet into production but send to production). After 2 days of none changing order status. I have call back last Saturday. This time I got someone that told me the order was place on log for cancellation and that I can sit relax and will received a email to confirm that and get a refund.

Today I have check my email and find out that I got my tracking number for my order that I should received it soon.

I am not surprise for the BS i got on the phone. But I have dealt with Dell before and cancel my GF laptop w/o any issue. Call, cancel and get the money back the same day.

So Bravo HP, I was going to order something else but it's not going to happen...

Once the order is actually dropped to the factory, it generally won't get cancelled. You'd have to ship it back to HP once you get it and reorder.

I'm in the same situation as you - the lady on the phone said she was able to cancel the dv5t order so I could order again and upgrade the processor. I did order again, but checking order status, both are in production with no cancellation note on the first order. Too bad, HP is gonna have to take this one back - I'd be pissed if I payed shipping originally (which isn't refunded) or if HP didn't pay return shipping charges, but they just e-mail a fedex return label to you, so nothing is really lost except a trip to a fedex drop off location.

If you dont want to "send it back" just REFUSE FedEx delivery. FedEx will return the package to HP with red notation "Refused"

HP site says to not do this without calling because your refund may be delayed and you might have to pay for the return shipping

They say that because they will have to eat shipping cost to/back :D LOL but my friend did this and pretended he was told to do it and got a full refund (YMMV)

Misinformation. HP PAYS for Return shipping regardless.

All one has to do is once the unit is received, call HP. They email you a postage paid return shipping label with RMA. FEDEX can come and pick it up or it can be dropped off at a Kinkos.

I am going through this with Logitech as we speak. I ordered the wrong USB receiver for my VX Revolution yesterday afternoon, my fault, but I called within 5 minutes of placing the order to cancel it.

Some jerkoff at Logitech told me it was canceled and that I would receive an email confirming that. I didn't get the email, so I just called back 10 minutes ago, and spoke to a lady who said it wasn't canceled, and there would have been no way I could have had it canceled within 5-10 minutes of the order because it wouldn't have been in the system yet.

So now I'm probably going to end up paying double, and even if I refuse the package I won't get the shipping refunded once they get the product back.

She then proceeded to say she can't promise that if I call back in to speak to a supervisor about getting the shipping refunded, that they will, because it was a "customer error"

To which I replied, actually it's not customer error if I called back IMMEDIATELY after I placed the order, and waited on hold for 35 minutes (it was a Sunday so I'm sure they had a skeleton crew), to be told "Oh yes, no problem Sir, I'll put the cancellation into the system right now, and you will receive an email shortly"

I love when companies blame their (LOYAL) customers for their own ineptness and inability to do something correctly when it comes to an order.

I will never order anything from Logitech again.

Yep, they only don't want you to refuse it because they want you to try it out and maybe change your mind before they have to eat the shipping cost again.

I believe not all inventories come from the factory. There might be a laptop with the same specs in their warehouses and send it from there. That's way sometimes they say it will take a while but lo and behold your order is on it's way.

I take it back, just got my HP order cancellation e-mail.

So, HP CAN cancel your order, just do it quickly and don't panic if it doesn't show up right away.

Hi Guys. Speaking of HP ORDER CANCELLATIONS. Here is my story as I hope it can help others.

2 Sundays ago I ordered an HP TX2500 but a few hours after I ordered it, I found the same laptop from Circuit City cheaper and then after that found a discount code to save another $400 on HP. So the same day I called HP and was told that they cannot cancel my order but they would make an attempt. I said ok. they told me the same story about its not guaranteed and that they would only make an attempt and let me know on email.

That same night I found on a forum of a guy that was able to cancel with HP. He just told me the steps. Basically the advice said to keep trying to cancel and do not accept the customer service answer and ask to speak to a supervisor since they CAN cancel your order.

So I emailed HP then called them again. This time, I was not taking no for an answer. I thanked the customer service person and asked them to help me by escalating my issue to their escalations department or supervisor. She did then I got the chance to speak with a supervisor and explained to him that I am buying an HP business notebook instead and that I am in charge of buying computer equipment for my company and I always buy HP. I told him that I would just like to cancel this one so I can get another and different laptop from HP instead of this one. I kept at it until the Supervisor finally told me that he was going to keep trying again himself and I got him to commit to calling me with an update. Well, He didnt call me for an update, but the next day, I got an email saying that my order was cancelled and I received the refund.

So there you have it. I felt I had to post since at one time, I had the same problem and was looking for help on how to do it. I hope someone can use this and help them.

Oh and just to note. That same day, I ordered the same laptop again but with a better processor speed, more memory, more hdd gb, more ..etc and used the $400 discount code and got the same laptop with a much better config for less that I paid the first time I ordered.
