Hello friends, I'm a bit worried because I bought an hp laptop, windows tells me it has a p4 processor but when I enter BIOS it says intel mobile celeron and it says the model is pavillion ze4300.

Does anyone knows how can I find out which processor it has really.

    Thank you for everything.

try the free trial edition of Everest. or just google search CPU-Z, download the utility and check what processor you have :) ........................... tthough i suspect that CeleronM is a stripped down version of the Pentium M Dothan

Edit: Direct Link to CPU-Z: http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

Thank you man, I've just checked the everest program and it says I've an intel pentium 4 processor type, 2100 mhz, alias Northwood,A80532.

I think that would be the right info.

    thanks a lot.

yes and it also means that you need to update your bIOS as its not getting the right CPU.

google search Bios Updates, or go to the HP Site

Do you think that upgrading my BIOS is really necessary?

Well, if it works fine and there arent any issues which might hinder the performance/useability of the laptop, then there is no need to update.

BIOS updates are mainly recommended if there is a bug or if you want to upgrade or if there is any performance hit which can be cured by the an update.
