I have a hp tx1000t and I decided to upgrade my video drivers, and disaster struck. I have nvidia 6150 and I downloaded the drivers from laptopvideo2go.com They were 169.09 drivers and using the modded inf I installed them. Midway during installation, an error came from vista that it found a problem in the drivers and it had a solution to repair it. But, before I could do anything the comp restarted, initially it showed a BSOD, i didn't care to read it though. I went to safe mode, sadly it showed no system restore points (!!!!!!) that was bad. I then roll backed the drivers, I thought it would take some but it just took a second and the device manager refreshed, the properties of the video card showed older version of drivers. I restarted. Now, after the windows boot screen(where that green bar loads) a black blank screen appears but then it sort of flickers and goes off, I mean now its not black, there is not LED light, the backlight isnt working, the screen isnt working. I went back to safe mode, downloaded some new drivers from my other lappy and put it into this. It takes about 10 seconds and it says it finished installing drivers sucessfully. Restart. Still the same problem. Back to safe mode. I tried numerous official and unofficial drivers, using different methods, i.e using the setup or using device manager to find the folder and install.

This is urgent. I need help. How do I get back to my old drivers? It doesn't seem that the driver installation is working either. I do not want to reformat or lose my files. I just want it to work the way it worked before. Please, try to reply as quick. Help and replies would be HIGHLY appreciated.

    Thanx a lot,
    Akshay

ya what " KWL 1226 " said is right you can go ahead and uninstall the drivers and the notebook will work fine... to uninstall the drivers..

    1. Go to Start >> control panel >> program and features >> you will get the list of all drivers from that list select the drivers which you have installed or downloaded.....
    2. Select the drives and right click on it and select uninstall ....
then go to hp.com and install the new drivers..

Uninstall the driver, and if prompted at all, completely delete them. Then restart the computer, let windows install its default drivers, then go online and get whatever driver that a) last worked for you or b) is known to be stable and preferably WHQL'ed

If you still have you're SWSetup directory just reinstall the driver from there. Didn't Vista warn you that it wasn't signed for it's use? Usually Vista will update to the latest drivers with you of the option to install it.

Just uninstall and use whichever generic gfx drivers vista decides to install

thanx a lot for your help guyz..... although I wasn't able to do what you guyz told because I was just seeing the recovery options and I was just seeing what it does, I clicked on system recovery and it started reformatting! there was no cancel button either, so I quickly shut my lappy down, next time I started it, it says boot manager not found. So, no safe mode , ntn, the only thing I could access was hp's recovery manager out of which there were 8 options previously but now only 2. System recovery and restore points, I chose system recovery and it didn't ask me for any backup, so w/o and other option I had 2 completely reformat my computer, losing all my precious data.

I think the main problem was I forgot that the tx1000 is amd -64 bit no 32 bit, so that could be the problem........

Oh, and Im facing lots of problems with my acer 5920g, I'll try to solve them myself, if I cant, then........... I'll have to trouble you..... but thanx a bunch for your help........
