Anyone use that option?

Yep. If you have decent credit, it's a great way to get 0% financing for a few months.

That I can't tell you for sure. I don't know specifically what BillMeLater's rules are, or anything like that. I do know they run a basic credit check on your info to say yea or nay. No late payments is a good start, no defaults, not running constantly at your credit limit, etc. are always a good idea.

How was your experience with them

It's been good so far. They called me to confirm that I ordered an HP Envy, and they emailed me info about my purchase, and that's all the contact I've had with them so far. They seem quite reputable.

I have a Newegg Preferred Account, which is run on Bill Me Later. It's a good option if you don't want to spend all that cash up front. Just make absolutely sure you pay every dime off before the 0% financing is up, otherwise you will get charged for all the accumulated interest. Ouchie.

I tried and was rejected. That was surprising because I have good credit. I did get a follow up email telling me I could see the reason for being denied, but when I followed the link and attempted to see why it said my info wasn't valid. I'm now wondering if the HP CSR made a typo.

Whats your age, think that also has something to do with being accepted. -

Your credit score is determined by a wide variety of things, and it will also depend on which credit reference agency they go to.
Even if you always pay things off on time, are married, own house etc, it could be that you haven't taken enough things out on credit to have a high enough score. Could be related to your postcode, the previous tennants, the fact that you are married might even count against you. Who knows with these things.
You can always ask them which credit reference agencies they use, and you can then request information from them. However, they are within their rights to charge you for this information, and it might be that it returns nothing usable to you - i.e. it might be nothing wrong with you personally, just that the score they set for acceptance could be higher than you have. -

I used it and so far no problems. I just didn't want to pay interest on a huge purchase like a laptop and yes ideally one would have the cash before they buy stuff, but I enjoy using credit when I know I don't need it so if I ever do need it I can use it...pretty weird how that works...not to mention I wouldn't have to plop down some 2000 bucks all at once, I can baby it over 6 months if I choose.

Many credit approvals depends on your SS# and name. Depending on the seller some has 60 or 90 days no interest otherwise it'll be 19.99% interest. If you don't pay it before the deadline then the interest is accrued on the original purchage price and it's a hefty penalty.

Sometimes the clincher with these creditors is that they will send you a bill with a payment date that's due too soon and don't have time to send it in time and wham you're hit with a penalty and your special rate is voided! Gets kind of tricky. Hope Bill Me Later isn't one of them.
