I made a recovery today, using the program from the recovery-partition.

for some reason, I can't start the computer again, all I get, is a black screen,
and 3 beeps, a long beep, and 2 short beeps.

It seems to me, that Windows is not loaded into the memmory.

I tried to booot the PC with the DVD's, but there isn't any contact with the computer at all.

Anyone who knows, what that beep-sequense means ??

    Thanks i nadvance

Does the computer POST? (ie show the HP screen when you first turn it on?) or does it just remain black?

those beeps are bad, really bad as they probably signal for MB failure. Call HP

beeps usually are an indicator of a hardware issue.
