Guys, i'm trying to buy a blu ray drive for my DV2700. My model has the hd dvd player, but i know they came out with a blu ray drive for it as well.

    Guessing they should be interchangable.

I checked the Maintenance & Service guide, and there is no Blu-Ray drive listed for the DV2700. If you’re sure you saw it offered through HP on this model then they don’t appear to be providing a replacement part. However, if you check the guide for the DV6700t, there is a Blu-Ray drive available.

Blu-ray Disc ROM Drive with SuperMulti DVD±R/RW Double-Layer (DL) support
    HP Part Number - 462453-001

Just guessing, but I’d think this would fit and work with your DV2700 provided you have the appropriate graphic support. Frankly though, I’m not up on Blu-Ray requirements, but I think you’d probably be OK if you have discrete graphics but if you have Intel integrated then you might need to do some checking.

If you don't mind the bezel not matching, a standard slimline drive ought to fit. See Newegg, etc. Just be sure to use any mounting hardware and adapters that HP may have placed on your old drive. Double-check that the drive height is OK too, some older Blu-ray drives were taller than normal IIRC.
