Yesterday I finally picked up a Blu Ray movie to watch and QC my systems.
I have had the HDX16 a little over a week and the HDX18 for under a week,
On the 18 previosly I noticed at times the media smart quick launch button would make a sound, but it would not launch or close the program.
After putting the movie in on the 18 nothing happened.
I went to double click the HP media smart the icons came up in the middle of the screen.
To my shock I had a black bar to the right that then vanished and I had the dialogue box as if I had left clicked on the display appear
I was not a happy camper. I went and did the same thing on the 16 which did play the movie, but also showed the dialogue box on my display.
I called HP HDX Tech Support. Yhey were very nice and professional.
I was told I probably needed to update the HP MediaSmart Player software and was walked through it on both and all is now well.
To update your software boot the MediaSmart player then click on the DVD icon to get the full screen disply.
On the bottom click on the cog (icon on left) the update is found there if it is needed. Click on the update tab and then download.
I hope this helps everyone. After the update the movie did look great!!! :)

There is an HP Support Bulletin that was released last month addressing this issue. It only took HP 6 months to get around to it after we'd been telling everyone how to fix it.
