    Hi,

I have a zt3000 series notebook that has an issue with power management feature. The notebook successfully goes to Standby or Hibernate but while resuming, it encounters a blue screen error and restarts from BIOS screen. I don't how to find what driver is causing this error as the blue-screen error goes out within a fraction of second. I have updated to latest BIOS from HP website (F.55) and also updated the video driver. I tried latest driver from ATI as well. I remember this issue exist even when I received the notebook without display driver installed (generic XP drivers) from my friend. Any idea if flashing the BIOS with a previous version might work or if the issue is related to ATI driver. Mine is a Mobility Radeon 9200 (M9) video card. Its a great inconvenience without having this power management features.

Thank you very much for your time in advance.

Well, it would be useful to know what the BSOD says. In order to stop the system from automatically restarting go to Control Panel(classic view) -> System-> Advanced-> Startup & recovery Settings->under System failure uncheck the automatically restart checkbox and the system should not immediately restart the next time you see the bluescreen. Without knowing any info on the BSOD you would have to look through each and every driver on your system.

Hi, below is the error message at blue screen. (This appears only while resuming from hibernation. Now there is a blank screen while computer resumes from standby mode and only a hard reboot is required to be back in windows).

    Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_or_equal

    STOP: 0x000000D1 (0xF853AD58, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xF853AD58)

    isapnp.sys Address F853AD58 base at F8535000
    isapnp.sys Address F853AD58 base at F8535000

Had two 256 MB memory modules, so based on some discussion in another forum, I tested the notebook with one module but the problem hasn't gone. Also trying to find a solution on the Net, but still didn't get any solution related to this isapnp.sys file.

'isapnp.sys is a device driver that manages plug-and-play for old ISA type expansion slots.'

if your on XP you can try doing a repair install

Did a repair but the issue remained as it is. Can anybody tell me if I flash a previous version of BIOS, will the PC boot without going blank ?
