    INTRO:

I have an NC8430 and just bought a Logitech v270 bluetooth mouse. Damn thing don't work!!!

    RANT:

Spend several hourS trying to get this thing to work. Been on the phone with logitech who tell me it's a computer Bluetooh module stack software problem and with HP who of course tell me: It logitech's pbs! (Actually HP has been more helpfull than logitech, it's just that their help has been outsourced and thus far very slow and not very helpful or informed ie: let's check your USB connection!!!!)

    INFO:

My HP has a vidcomm stack (what ever that means) which seems to be the latest version I can find on the HP site. The Bios states the bt is enabled. The computer does not pick up anything. I have turned the mouse on several times, have pushed the reset button on it several times. Have reinstalled the widcomm software and rebooted several times. All w/ no effect! Sadly I don't have another bt device to see if my computer would pick that up.

    CONCLUSION:

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

have you tried to connect another BT device to your computer to see if it works? If not (And if you can) bring your mouse back to store to swap it for another. If a new device or new mouse works then you must of had a defective mouse. if not, it's your computer and that will have to be fixed..

what version is the bluetooth software? (go to bluetooth configuration, should be something like 5.1.0.3000)
um, when using the connection wizard, when its scanning for devices, press and hold the mouse connect button until the mouse shows up as a device, if it stops scanning, rescan until it shows up. if it doesnt, well maybe try the logitech bluetooth dongle.
i myself have a logitech bluetooth mouse, the mx1000 bluetooth. thats how i usually connect my mouse.

I have the v270 as well and I'm using it on a dv6000t. At first mine didn't work as well but then I uninstalled the logitech software (whatever its called, setpoint or something like that) and it all worked perfectly. the only downside to not using the logitech software is that the trackpad settings and the mouse settings are the same.

Oh, and I don't know if this helps but this is how I connect:
Bluetooth setup wizard> "I want to find a specific bluetooth device....."> it will then search for devices, make sure to press the reset button and confirm the green light on the bottom is blinking.
Then when "Bluetooth travel mouse" comes up double click
A window will pop up and tell you to use the bluetooth mouse to click a button
If you can then your good, If not well I don't know it always just works for me.

Looks like you have no choice. Sounds to me like your BT Module is dead.. I know is sucks to send it back but you did pay for BT.

i got mine from hp, but had to do some searching, because thier so nice to release new version uniformly /sarcasm. (this is the same with alot of the other drivers for the nc8430...)
drivers >>>> hp bluetooth drivers 5.1.0.3000
since i have the exact same laptop as you, im pretty sure these drivers should work.... just a question, what colour is the bluetooth icon? blue/red or blue/white
if its blue/red, means that its busted... call up hp business support, and tell them you bluetooth doesnt work, and have them ship u a new one... it is a user replacable part, so it shouldnt be too much trouble.
