So i've only recently purchased a new cell phone and decided to try it's bluetooth features with my notebook. Only I'm realizing now that the bluetooth program, icons and functionality has seemingly vanished from my computer.

I've looked into this and read up on bluetooth not working after upgrading to vista. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00915262&dlc=en&product=3257830

I've downloaded the support software and in the midst of the installation i'm informed that i need to uninstall the original bluetooth software. This lead me to take a look at the uninstall list. And there was a icon for the Blue tooth module technology. I should mention that if I do a search for "bluetooth" all i get is the bluetooth tray icon. After removing the bluetooth software went back to install the software from HP. I then recieved a message saying that there was no bluetooth module.

I'm completely lost as to what steps to take with this. Thanks for any help i can get.

    Hi,
I had a problem like this when i upgraded XP to Vista on one of my previous HP's. Have you got HP's wireless assistant installed after upgrading. Click on the link above if not and download HP wireless assistant plus Software and drivers for HP integrated module with bluetooth wireless . Install both these downloads. You should then have a little wireless symbol in the sys tray. Right click on it and enable all devices, this should install the bluetooth for you. If there is no symbol, go into the controll panel and click on Network and Internet to enable it.
    Hope this helps.
