well i figured it out was actually pretty simple. turns out reinstalling HP wireless assistant allowed me to activate the Bluetooth and install the driver.

Is the Bluetooth integrated in the Wifi Card? Or is it a separate module in the notebook?

they are SEPARATE half size boards ... which makes me question the whole BT 3.0 (24 Mbps) thing. The WiFi is the Intel 1000 and the Bluetooth is a Broadcom 2070 ... now if the 6230 was installed/supported, I would have more confidence.

? Not saying that it can't, but I need some further explaination.
(** VVVV *** thanks for the explaination! ) -
The 2070 has its own antenna etched on the card.
The Broadcom BCM2070 is a monolithic, single-chip, stand-alone baseband processor with a high performance integrated 2.4-GHz RF transceiver.
In other words, it doesn't rely on the intel wifi. -
Ok I guess I misunderstood it. But I read that Bluetooth 3.0+HS does make use of 802.11
Probably it has its own 802.11 link. -

Both of you are right, it does utilize the 802.11 PHY/Linky Layer for the 2.4Ghz spectrum. Just where was the radio was incorrect.
Bluetooth Driver not working.
