I am trying to confiqure my dv2000 to allow me to synchronize my treo with the laptop via bluetooth. The problem is I need to create a virtual serial port, which involves going into bluetooth control panel. Unfortunatly the dv2000 does not have bluetooth control via the control pannel. No bluetooth icon show up in the icon bar either, but the wireless manager does show that bluetooth is on.

Basically is their anything I could have missed?

I have a 700P and one of the main reasons I chose the DV2000T was for the bluetooth capabilities. It works well on mine most of the time...

Turn the Treo's bluetooth on and follow the directions after clicking the "setup devices" button in the lower left corner. You should be able to establish a relationship. It created the virtual port during the pairing process.

When you've done that, go to Hotsync on the Treo. Under the icon button, you'll see a drop-down box. It's probably defaulted to cradle/cable. Change it to sync via bluetooth. You may also have to change the desktop hotsync to "local" rather than "local USB".

Mine installed pretty easily. I think I had to repair it once, but I think that was due to another application that was opening the port.

I suggest you use Microsoft's software to manage bluetooth (BTTtray.exe). I find it much easier. Further to create a virtual serial port you just have to right click on the blue icon in the taskbar.
