I'm currently using my 21" 1080i HDTV as an external monitor using an HDMI cable from my dv6se, and everything looks fuzzy, especially all text. Is there a reason behind this? Anything I can do to clear it up? I've trying running through ClearType, but that didn't fix things at all. Any ideas?

It's the TV. Is it a Sony?

Try fiddling with the advanced controls on the TV for that input.

Since it is 1080i, not 1080p, you should try to run it with it's native resolution and that's probably 1366x768?

Is the imaged scaled or does it take up the whole monitor? Are you outputting the 1080p? Did you use the automatic settings when connecting the monitor?

It appears to be being scaled, which I dont understand, as its outputting 1080p, according to Catalyst Control Center. I did use the automatic setting, if there are any, I really dont remember.

Check to be sure the resolution for the external monitor in windows or CCC is set to 1920X1080. Do other HD peripherals have the same result?
What's the model of the TV?

Both are set to 1920x1080. The tv is an Insignia.

Graphics -> Desktops & Displays -> Little black arrow on the display you want to adjust -> Config -> Scaling Options

    Is it 0%?
