Hello all. I have a dv2000t that I just got a couple weeks ago. There are a few things that I am minorly disappointed with, but I like it for the most part.

One of those things I am dissapointed with is the time it takes to get the thing going after a shutdown. It seems so slow to me. My old zv5000z booted in about half the time. I'm averaging 1:45 from the time I press the power button until the time that everything is loaded and the computer is ready to go. That seems really slow to me. I used to be proud of the time that my old laptop took to boot up, but I am embarrassed to turn this thing on in public. Haha.

I have trimmed my startup programs and here's what is running at startup:

That's still a lot of crap, especially all those HP and nvidia stuff.

I have all of 2 very light startup programs (AV and RMClock) and my computer boots up really fast and I'm not missing out on anything by not starting up all the Acer and ATI crap that I could have kept on the startup.

How much memory do you have in your configuration?

I have 1.5 GB of RAM in my computer.

I don't need those NVIDIA drivers to run on startup?

QHN - why zap the NVidia and Synaptics drivers? Wouldn't it be better to turn them off from the "startup" tab rather than the processes tab?
