    Bootup will not pass COMPAQ logo

    Gidday guys.

    My wife is at home with our old COMPAQ Presario 1500 notebbok, which one of my 2 year old girls has got to. She doesn't know what our daughter did, but now the machine will not boot up, getting to the stage where the COMPAQ logo comes up on the screen and just staying at that stage. Any ideas? She has tried turning off and restarting several times, getting the same effect each time. Heeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllppppppppppppp...........

    Which Compaq logo is it? The one immediately after you push the on/off button or the one just before Windows?
