It is the latest version of the zd8000.
I was first looking at some slower ones but then I saw the 17 inch screen with these amazing moving colors, depth and movement and that was it

    Pics later this week!

    Specs:

    - Intel Pentium 4 processor 630 with HT-Technology
    - 3,0 GHz, 800 MHZ FSB, 2 MB L2-Cache, Speedstep
    - 17 inch WXGA+ High-Definition* Brightview Widescreen-Display
    - 1024 MB DDR2 533 MHz Dual Channel SDRAM
    - 100 GB 4200 RPM Harddisk (is gonna get changed, I'll explain later)
    - ATI Mobility Radeon X600 128 MB DDR (seperate)
    - 8x DVD±RW/R- and CD-RW-Combo, Double Layer
    - 54g 802 11b/g WLAN and Bluetooth
    - 4 USB 2.0 and 1 Firewire
    - USB Digital Drive Bay
    - HP Mobile Remote Control
    - 6-in-1 Digital Media Reader
    - 2 year warranty
    - some more stuff but I am bored writing now :p

1375 euros, which is 1659 dollars, bought it new and packaged from a nice guy who buys them in big amounts for cheap, gave me a cool Sony USB mouse with it. New in the shop it costs 1499 euros/1809 dollars, here in the Netherlands....same notebook, same everything.

Yes, AMD and Centrino would be quieter/lighter/thinner blablabla BUT the 17 inch screen is just too sweet AND I am using it as a replacement for my desktop which is muuuch much louder and heavier anyway
It is actually suprisingly quiet considering the specs, it just blows a bit air, that's it, after a short while I don't notice it.
I will use it for Photoshop, ACDsee Powerpack, Imaging, Audio Editing, DVDs, some old late 90s Tomb Raider (ducks), Resident Evil, Medal of Honor, racing games.

It is very powerful and fast, to test I downloaded the Battlefield 2 multiplayer, I put everything on maximum, went into a "room" with room for 64 participants and 57 were there......not even a glitch, it was all smooth and fast
It just looks flippin breathtaking on the 17 inch widescreen , almost like 3-D (btw, did I mention the 17 inch widescreen?).
The sound is as loud as you want, it has the Altic Lansing speakers, very clear and "stereo-sounding".

    What I am gonna change is this....it has a 100GB 4200 RPM harddisk, which I am gonna change to 20, maybe 30GB 5400 RPM....why?
I have a Firewire 80GB external harddisk with ALL my favorite music/movies/pics/etc on it and still have 40 GB left.
Everything I complete/download on this notebook will immediately go on the external, I don't want to clog up the harddisk on the notebook.
Besides the external is nice to have when a virus gets into the notebook and you have to reinstall XP....all your stuff is safe on the external.
If any of you gurus can advice me a 5400 RPM, 20 to 30GB internal harddisk for this notebook, it would be appreciated :D

    Anyway, yea, me iz happeh!
