    Bought a V2000z with Turion ML-30 but reads 795mhz

    i thought the processor is suppose to be at 1.6ghz? but on the system properties it only reads 795mhz. is there something wrong? or is it suppose to be like that?

    It is supposed to do that. It ramps up to full speed only when needed, just like a Pentium-M. Run it through a session of Super Pi and you'll see it ramp!

    oooh haha thx slappy! i was afraid something was wrong. phew! this is my first laptop too. oh and if u dont mind me asking, can u tell me what kind of ram i need too? im looking at corsair, but there is valueselect and XMS, and im not sure which to get.

    Corsair got ValueSelect and SystemSelect. Either should work. SystemSelect is more expensive than the ValueSelect... dunno what's the difference between the 2.

    don't forget to undervolt you Turion64 too.

    it really help with more battery life and (a little) lower CPU temp but don't make performance drop.
