I have those anti-glare glasses but the brightview screen is reallly bright. I also have a non-bright external monitor but even that one hurts my eyes.

Is there a filter that I can apply to both screens to block whatever rays are coming out of the screens?

You can try and increase the refresh rate, if your monitor supports a higher refresh rate, to prevent eye strain and headaches. Refresh rates are expressed in Hertz (Hz) and the default refresh rates I've seen range from 59-60 Hz.

Try 75 Hz if your monitor supports that.

See if lowering brightness and resolution help too.

Yeah, have you tried simply lowering the brightness of the screen?? Also it may help if you lowered the resolution like Mikelx215 suggested. :)

I have a set of oakley sunglasses that would work.
    They were $400 though.

Yup, if it hurts your eyes it means that the brightness is set too high.

Usually eyestrain is because of the refresh rate. What this gentleman suggests is good advice. You can also lower the brightness by holding down the Fn key and adjusting it with F7 and F8.

To lower the brightness hold down the function (fn) key while tapping the f7 key to fit your preference.

If you have a dedicated card, the nvidia control panel has more settings to reduce eye strain.

Thank you, I just modified the brightness and the refresh rate. Flipfire, I have an Intel card so I might not have those settings, I've never seen them anyway.

Refresh rate isn't an issue with LCDs as they don't flicker...

Maybe that's why my dv6700t doesn't have the 75 hz option.

That may be true as far as eye strain goes, but really LCDs have something similar because they have times of blackness between their refreshes... so that can cause eye strain as well I would think...
