    Hi guys,

This BrightView it's a little bright for my taste... I can't achive that "black pitch" on my background wallpaper (which is predominantly black or think of just a plain black background), and the brightness seem a little over the top. The options on this ATI Express 200 are not helping to much either when trying to adjust. Any way to "do" anything about this? Your thoughts? Thanks.

Cool stuff, thanks. It still pretty brigh even dimmed all the way down.. I guess it has a strong backlight, so I dunno how you can fix that. Maybe HPs have this brighter backlight.. whatever.

Pretty much the only thing you can do is dim the screen down as j0hn says. You can try going into Desktop > Properties > Advanced - then fool around with the monitor brightness.

Wow, HP's Brightview screens are supposed to have the least bright glossy screens out of the major notebook manufactures. Try lowering the screen brightness as others have stated.

Too bright? Really!? Wow, I'm actually wishing that the BrightView on my DV4000 could be brighter, like on the Vaio FS series, god, I just love the screen on that notebook! :D
