Hi,
i'm new in here, owning a DV9040ea with AMD, out of warranty and writing from Germany.
Ok, last Weekend I made a major Windows Update since then the W-Lan doesn't work. Broadcom is missed in the device manager. Reinstalling and Updating the Wlan Drivers wouldn't help. Only once in a while it will appear after a Bios reeboot and will get lost after a normal boot.
To me, it looks like a Hardware-Problem and I will replace this f'ing Broadkom Card. The Problem is now, I don't find a replacement Produkt. HP Nr. is 407160-02. HP writes i could use a 441075-002 witch is a Broadcom 4311.
But i will not replace a Broadcom with an other. So dou you have any suggestion? Be aware it must be for AMD-CPU and should work in Europe.
Thanks in advance

The problem is likely much worse than that. Wireless failure is an early symptom of a failing NVIDIA chipset:

Hopefully that warranty enhancement is long enough to cover your notebook? -
I believe it's a motherboard issue. Mine died a long time ago and instead bought a USB wireless adapter.

And so did I. I wasn't able to find a propper replacment Mini PCIe. Actually nobody could tell me wich PCIe to use for an DV9040ea with AMD CPU. So I ordered an USB Dongle.
And I also bought an replacement Laptop. My HP Laptop will end in E-Bay. Price for used HP's are almost good enough to get an good new Laptop.
Broadcom - never ending Story
