Hello, I was wondering if anyone can help me.

A friend asked me to fix her Compaq Presario CQ60 which had a cracked screen. We bought a new screen off eBay which is an LED screen with a CCFL conversion kit on it. I have got the video cable hooked up, but there isn't a cable to go from the conversion kit into the inverter. What kind of cable am I looking for? Should note, this is the first time I have ever done something like this.

Any and all help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

You can dispose of the inverter now. The LED screen doesnt need it.

the conversion kit is just one flat cable. with Three attachment points.

The wire that is going into the inverter on your laptop needs to be connected to the right slot on the converter cable. That takes care of the backlight.

The wire that goes into the old screen for display, now goes into the long flat connector on the converter cable.

The only wire that you will connect to the new screen is the short flat connector on the converter cable.

You will not be able to connect a wire into the wrong slot, it's all straight forward. Plug and play.

Follow this. And please post a picture of the converter cable, and the screen model you got. Also the results.

Also, while you're at it. Clean the fan and heatsink on that laptop. I bet you it's clogged. Do it while you have it open.
